2K Games has officially announced its plans to develop a fourth instalment to the award-winning Mafia franchise.
To celebrate twenty glorious years of Mafia, 2K Games has announced a whole new project, one that has in fact already begun to make progress from the nearby shadows. Turns out, of course, that it’s on way, and it’ll be around to launch on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The only problem is, we don’t quite know when it’ll drop — only that it’s in active development.
“I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project!” Hangar 13 GM Roman Hladík said in a recent Q&A blog. “While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories.”

Any Rumors Knocking About?
Although Hangar 13 has yet to flesh out the upcoming game with any sneak previews or gameplay footage, rumors have in fact already begun to surface. And if we’re going by what’s being said, then Mafia 4 will serve as a prequel to the first game, in which the story will revolve around Don Salieri and his rise to fame as the city’s mob boss.
Of course, you can take the bulk of this with a grain of salt. And all you should really take away, at least in this instance, is the fact that Mafia 4 is en route, and it’ll be with us at some point in the next few years.
