AMD Ryzen 7000 officially with RDNA2 GPUs
At the Ryzen 7000 announcement, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su did not discuss an important new feature which is now part of the mainstream desktop series, the integrated graphics. However, the company did confirm it afterwards.

The official website for AMD Ryzen 7000 series confirms all four SKUs feature the same Radeon graphics onboard. AMD Raphael CPUs come with 2 Graphics Cores (Compute Units) featuring 64 Stream Processors each. AMD is listing two clocks for the graphics, base clock of 400 MHz and boost up to 2.2 GHz.

This is the first time AMD will be adding integrated graphics to its non-G series. The AM4 socket has received many APUs based on Renoir or Cezanne silicons, each equipped with capable Vega graphics. With the integration of RDNA2 into Raphael CPUs, one might wonder if AMD has plans to launch its upcoming Phoenix as powerful desktop APUs with RDNA3 iGPU later.
But exactly how powerful such integrated graphics are? With 2 Compute Units, each with 64 Stream Processors, we are looking at 0.563 TFLOPs, a 1/3 of the Steam Deck’s performance (8CUs clocked at 1.6 GHz). That’s definitely not gaming capable hardware, but it should be powerful enough for content creation and some basic display output capability. A similar configuration is expected from yet unreleased AMD Mendocino APU for low-power and affordable Chromebooks.

Interestingly, AMD website lists a discrete GPU requirement for Ryzen 7000 series, which is most likely a mistake. One should remember, however, that high-performance desktop Ryzen 7000 CPUs are not really meant to be used without external graphics due to its limited graphics performance. That said, that shouldn’t be a requirement, but a recommendation.
AMD Ryzen 7000 series are now set to launch on September 27th. The pricing spans from 299 USD for 6-core CPU up to 699 USD for 16-core model.
