Following a report earlier this week pointing to Assassin’s Creed Mirage being the title of the next entry in Ubisoft’s prolific series, today has seen what appears to be the first image from the game, teasing a quest called ‘The Forty Thieves’.
Shared on Twitter by Assassin’s Creed fan account The Codex Network, the image presumably shows Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Basim, rumoured to be the protagonist of Mirage, in a new story set in Baghdad.
Should the leaked image prove to be legitimate (and it certainly looks that way), it seems that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will have a bonus DLC quest inspired by classic Arabic folk tale, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves.
Previous reports have noted that Assassin’s Creed Mirage could be a return to traditional Assassin’s Creed, following the pure open world action RPG shenanigans of Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla.
Rumours also suggest that Assassin’s Creed Mirage is due to release in spring 2023, with development reportedly headed up by Ubisoft Bordeaux. Ubisoft is also planning to “unveil the future of Assassin’s Creed” during a Ubisoft Forward taking place next week.
