Check out the trailer below, followed by everything you need to know about what’s included in the Children of the Worm.

Back 4 Blood Expansion 2 release date & time

The release date of Children of the Worm has been set for August 30, 2022. Players will be able to pick it up either standalone, or as part of the Back 4 Blood Annual Pass. The pack also comes at no extra cost for owners of the game’s Deluxe and Ultimate Editions.

The game’s official Twitter account has also given us the exact time we can expect the pack. It’ll go live from 6pm UK time, or 10am PDT & 1pm EDT.

Back 4 Blood Expansion 2 contents

The expansion will introduce a new Campaign Story to Back 4 Blood. As Act 5, it’ll directly follow on from the previous chapter’s story. The expansion also adds a new playable character in the form of “Prophet Dan”.

In addition, the expansion promises a “fierce new enemy threat”. While Turtle Rock are staying coy as to their identity – the image seems to imply some sort of cult, with the foes wearing masks. They’re also sporting a symbol of what appears to be a worm on said masks, so we assume they’re the Children of the Worm in the title.

To combat these new foes, there’ll be new weapons, new cards and more. These will include the Lockjaw rifle, and a Bear Trap. The pack will also include eight exclusive character skins, and 12 weapon skins too. These include some rather fetching 8-bit styled weapons skins for a retro shooter feel.
