dredge coming to consoles and pc in 2023, team17 confirmed to publish

Team17 is confirmed as publisher for DREDGE, a single-player fishing exploration game arriving on consoles and PC in 2023. Team17

Team17 is confirmed as the publisher for DREDGE, a single-player fishing adventure game developed by Black Salt Games, with the title coming sometime in 2023 to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The game is now up for wishlisting on Steam, with an official announcement trailer also put up by publisher Team17. Check out the trailer for DREDGE below to see a glimpse of the mystery-filled fishing/exploration title.

The DREDGE trailer shows an all-but abandoned world where you and a fishing trawler go up against certain mysteries. However, players are not thrust into a relaxing fishing adventure, but into a rather dangerous one, as the trailer reveals a huge tentacle seemingly headed for the trawler before it cuts to black. This means some horror elements are also present in the game; if you’re not already afraid of the ocean, this game should give you plenty of reasons.

DREDGE tasks you with captaining a fishing trawler to explore a collection of remote isles and their surrounding depths to see what lies below. You can then sell your catch to various locals in the area and complete quests along the way to learn more about their troubled pasts. On your journey, you can retrofit your trawler with better equipment to traverse deep sea trenches and navigate far-off lands. Be careful as the dark brings dangers not found in ordinary seas.

DREDGE takes place in a remote archipelago called The Marrows where you scour the water for curious collectibles and over 125 deep sea creatures and denizens. The Marrows is made up of various areas with respective quests and mysteries, all available for you to explore to slowly piece together each island’s truths. Your journey, however, is fraught with danger; besides the sharp rocks and shallow reefs, which can ground your boat, there are also numerous deadly and mysterious creatures lurking behind the fog that cloaks the nighttime seas.
