How to Hack in the different endings

how to, [ guide ] soul hackers 2 how to get the different endings

Soul Hackers 2 has officially launched and many players may be wondering if there are multiple endings in the game much like other Megami Tensei titles.

After playing through Soul Hackers 2 we can confirm that there are two endings: the normal ending and the true ending. Here’s how you get each of them:

Getting the right keys

In the final stretch of the final dungeon: the 24th Ward Municipal Tower, players will travel along a ribcage-like structure where they will encounter four hologram-like recreations of characters that have appeared throughout the game.

When interacting with each of these, Ringo will be asked if she agrees with the choices that each of these characters made. Selecting “I do” will give you the “Sunlight Keys”, while selecting “I don’t” will get you “Moonlight keys”.

After you defeat the final boss, players who have any sunlight keys will automatically get a bad ending.

Getting The Good Ending

In order to get a good ending, you need to get say “I don’t” to each of the holograms in the final dungeon and get four Moonlight keys. After beating the final boss, you’ll have a dialogue option between “Let her go” which will get you the normal ending, and “reach out to her” which will give you the true ending.

The two endings aren’t all that different from each other. The overall outcome of both is pretty similar however the true ending has an extended cutscene and finishes to story on a more optimistic note, as opposed to the normal ending which is more bittersweet.

Regardless of which ending you pick, you’ll then gain access to the game’s New Game Plus mode as well as unlock a trophy/achievement for whichever ending you get. You’ll need to go back and playthrough the other ending for the other trophy so make sure you keep an extra save file on hand if you’re interested in trying to Platinum the game.

Soul Hackers 2 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. Check out our review of the game for more information.
