Mafia is one of the most popular gaming series. There are three installments of Mafia; the third installment came out back in 2016. Fans have been wondering about the next game in the franchise, while there were many rumors, official confirmation was still pending. Now, it’s the time for fans to rejoice as Hang 13 has officially confirmed an all-new Mafia game. We may be far away from the launch, but this confirmation is a treat for gamers. Also, it makes us wonder how the game will be competing against the next Grand Theft Auto title.
We do not have any teaser or trailer for the upcoming game; it was announced at the Mafia 20th anniversary interview. Hangar 13 General Manager Roman Hladík together with Head of Production and Media Director Tomáš Hřebíček talked about Mafia gaming franchise. They discussed the past 20 years of the Mafia franchise. Hladík went on and confirmed that the next game is in the development phase:
I’m happy to confirm we’ve started work on an all-new Mafia project! While it’s a few years away and we can’t share anything more right now, we’re really excited to keep working on this beloved franchise and to entertain our players with new stories,”
Theories on new Mafia game
So far, we don’t even know its name. In one of our previous articles, we wrote about theories on Mafia 4. I would say that the next installment should be connected to the first game. It can be a prequel about Don Salieri, as he is a great character, and his story will be quite entertaining. That being said, the next Mafia is still years away, hopefully it will be a joy to play.
