how to, how to unlock and upgrade weapons in destroy all humans! 2 – reprobed

When you first start Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, all Crypto has to defend himself with is his trusty Zap-O-Matic.

For a default weapon, it’s pretty good to be honest. But to fight against the game’s strongest foes and even up the odds when outnumbered, you’re going to want to unlock additional weapons as well as upgrade your arsenal. So, how you to unlock and upgrade weapons in Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed?

How to Unlock Weapons

When it comes to unlocking weapons in Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, it’s simply a case of playing through the game’s story. At key points you’ll be asked to retrieve Data Cores, and upon picking one up you’ll be given some new hardware to play with. It might be a new weapon for Cypto, or one for his ship: either way, it’ll allow for destruction. First you’ll get the Dislocator, for example, that will allow you to catapult and bounce both enemies and objects. But more explosive weapons like the Ion Detonator are also up for grabs toward the end of the game.

Furotech is Your Friend

To upgrade your weapons in Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed, you’ll first need Furotech.  This comes in two varieties – Furotech Cells, and Furotech Reactors – which are both primarily obtained by completing missions. You’ll get many Furotech Cells, represented by a green icon, every time you complete a mission, with more awarded for completing optional objectives. Furotech Reactors, on the other hand, are harder to come by, and are generally awarded upon taking down a boss. A limited number of Furotech Cells can also be found out in each open world environment, however.

How to Upgrade Weapons

Once you have some Furotech, you can upgrade your weapons by going to your flying saucer. Go to a flying saucer landing pad, and summon your saucer if it’s not already there. Press the required button to enter the saucer, and you’ll then be presented with a menu. To upgrade your weapons, select the Pox Mart option.

In the Pox Mart menu, you can press the left and right shoulder buttons to switch between the various weapons and other pieces of tech you have that can be upgraded. When you’re on the weapon or ability you want to upgrade, you can then hold the confirm button on an upgrade to purchase it providing you have the required Furotech.

As usual, you need to unlock weaker upgrades before gaining access to the most powerful ones. Some weapons have multiple upgrade paths, too. While most upgrades require Furotech Cells, the final upgrades require Furotech Reactors, meaning you have to carefully choose which ones you want to fully upgrade. The good news is that you can claim your Furotech back if you want to upgrade your weapons differently at a later date. All you need are human brains.
