The Pokémon-inspired online team builder, Temtem, is coming to Switch on September 6th. After an early access release on PC and PS5 back in 2020, the game has racked up its fair share of loyal fans with an already impressive knowledge of the game. In any normal situation, this would be enough to put prospective Tamers off entering into a new world full of people with a high baseline knowledge of the game’s mechanics and techniques. Fortunately, Humble Games has released a handy ‘Tips and ‘Tricks’ guide to ensure that your first steps in the Floating Archipelago are as comfortable as possible.

Breaking down everything from the basics of Temtem battles and online co-op to the nuances of breeding and home customisation, the above guide trailer sets a pretty good starting knowledge of the game for those who want to brush up on their skills before playing.

Of course, there is no obligation to know what you are going to be up against before getting started on your Tamer journey and, with exploration being one of Temtem’s key techniques for success, the trailer is careful to give away no spoilers about the game’s plot. Although if you really do want to go into Temtem fresh, then we recommend maybe giving this trailer a miss and working out the best battle techniques on your own.

Even those who have played the game during early access will have new events to discover when Temtem officially launches on consoles next week. Just last month, publisher Humble Games revealed the new Version 1.0 Features which will be landing on the game to coincide with the console launch. These new additions include the introduction of Seasons, an Endgame Island and a Premium Store. More information on each of these can be found in the reveal trailer below:
