Alright, so we’re still in August, but what’s the harm in looking ahead to the expected Pokemon Go Arlo counters for September 2022?

After all, most players have sent Arlo’s August line-up packing and are likely itching for next month’s confrontation.

We’re busting out our finely-polished predictive skills to bring you an educated guess about what Pokemon counters will help you fend off Arlo next month.

A sprinkling of speculative dust is part of the mix here, but if anything, Niantic loves consistency when it comes to Arlo’s monthly roster of Shadow Pokemon. This means we’ve peeked back at recent months to get a strong sense of what’s coming.

Pokemon Go Arlo Counters September 2022 Predictions

Pokemon Go Arlo counters for September 2022 predictions:

  • Phase 1: Charmander
  • Phase 2: Mawile/Salamence/Charizard
  • Phase 3: Steelix/Scizor/Gardevoir

Charmander – Phase 1

Arlo’s phase 1 Arlo always starts with Charamader, a Fire-type Pokemon, weak to Rock, Ground, and Water-type moves.

  • Counters: Golem, Rhyperior, Rampardos, Regirock, Tyranita, Omastar
  • Moves/Attacks: Smack Down, Rock Slide, Rock Throw

Mawile/Salamence/Charizard – Phase 2

If previous month’s are anything to go by, Arlo relies on either Mawile, Salamence, or Charizard for Phase 2.

Mawile – Pokemon Go Arlo Counters

Mawil is a Steel-Type critter that loses much of his bite to Fire and Ground-type attacks.

  • Counters: Entei, Houndoom, Moltres, Garchomp, Chandelure
  • Moves/Attacks: Fire Spin, Mud Shot, Overheat, and Fire Fang

Salamence – Pokemon Go Arlo Counters

Salamence is a Flying and Dragon-type Pokemon that’s weak against Ice-type attacks.

  • Counters: Glaceon, Weavile, Mamoswine, Palkia, Galarian Darmanitan
  • Moves/Attacks: Ice Fang, Dragon Breath, Powder Snow, Avalanche

Charizard – Pokemon Go Arlo Counters

Last but not least of Arlo’s Phase 2 fighters, we have Charizard, a Flying and Fire-type Pokemon that’s weak to Rock-type attacks.

  • Counters: Golem, Rampardos, Rhyperior, Tyranitar, Omastar
  • Moves/Attacks: Smack Down, Rock Throw, Rockslide

Steelix/Scizor/Gardevoir – Phase 3

Moving on to Phase 3, and Arlo generally relies on one of three Pokemon – Steelix, Scizor, or Gardevoir.

Steelix

Steelix is a Steel and Ground-type Pokemon. Strong Pokemon Go Arlo counters here include Water, Fire, Ground, and Fighting-type moves.

  • Counters: Swampert, Conkeldurr, Entei, Heatran, Darmanitan
  • Moves/Attacks: Counter, Fire Fang, Water Gun, Overheat, Hydro Cannon

Scizor

A Steel and Bug variety Pokemon, Scizor stumbles when up against Fire-type attacks.

  • Counters: Charizard, Entei, Blaziken, Heatran, Reshiram
  • Moves/Attacks: Fire Spin, Blast Burn, Overheat

Gardevoir

Gardevoir is a Psychic and Fairy-type fighter that’s particularly weak to Steel, Ghost, and Poison-type moves.

  • Counters: Chandelure, Dialga, Hoopa, Metagross, Gengar
  • Moves/Attacks: Meteor Mash, Lick, Astonish, Poison Jab, Sludge Bomb
