According to our sources, it appears that Skull and Bones will be officially re-revealed next month.
It seems that July is already gearing up to be a decent month for game reveals and announcements despite Summer Games Fest concluding just a couple of weeks ago.
Sources have said that Ubisoft is preparing to re-reveal Skull and Bones during the week of July 4th. Details on what will be revealed are vague, but it’s understood that Ubisoft will finally confirm a release date for the long-awaited title, officially reveal gameplay, and share some other additional details.
It’s currently unclear when the game will be released, but last week, Brazil officially rated the title for the PC, Stadia, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S|X. Although such ratings do not confirm an exact release date, these ratings do suggest that the game is near completion.
Skull and Bones has faced several major reboots during its almost decade-long development, with the game being first revealed by Ubisoft at E3 in 2017. Despite its issues and constant delays, Ubisoft had said that the title will release “during the second half of its fiscal year”, which implies the game will release between October 2022 – March 2023.
Major playtesting of the title also began in April, with a major leak showing off six minutes of what appeared to be a tutorial for the game in the same month. Several sources who had played the game during this period said that the game felt like it was near completion, but the game lacked depth and could face potential issues with the way players need to loot for materials to upgrade their ship.
It’s understood that all of the information that is due to be released will come in the form of a livestream, with trailers, gameplay, developer interviews, and more.
