Digital Extremes has announced that it’ll soon be introducing its fiftieth playable Warframe for, um, Warframe. Named ‘Styanax’, the next Warframe is due to drop in September, and can added to the Arsenal of all players for free, for a limited time, when the upcoming Veilbreaker update releases.
Styanax is inspired by ancient Greek warrior Astyanax, and as such, some with “immense power” and a range of “formidable” abilities, as showcased in an animated short below. Styanax will pack an Axios Javelin, which pushes enemies into walls as it strikes them; a Tharros Strike, which summons a shield to repel enemies and chip away their shields and armour, while regenerating health with each foe you hit.
His Rally Point ability draws enemy attention, regenerating ally health and shields as he does; and Final Stand has Styanax rise into the air and throw a barrage of Axios Javelins, dealing damage to any threats in its vicinity. Styanax is due to arrive alongside the Veilbreaker update, which will also see the return of Grineer Kahl-175 as a playable character in a new single-player Quest, following the events of The New War update.
As Kahl, you’ll wield powerful new abilities and tech to battle a Sentient onslaught, as well as returning Archon bosses aboard the Murex. Veilbreaker will also add new weekly missions revolving around Kahl-175, with co-op play enabling you to increase his overall rank and earn new customisation items. As well as introducing new customisations and accessories, Veilbreaker will include a variety of quality of life improvements, too.
The Veilbreaker update and 50th Warframe, Styanax, will be coming to Warframe on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in September.
