There’s a new map in Ark: Survival Evolved called Fjordur, which has brought many amazing things with it. Between the fabulous landscapes and the stunning easter eggs, there’s plenty for players to see and do. The Nordic-inspired cliffs, hidden spots of beauty, and amazing Realms are not all the map has to offer. Perhaps the best addition is that of four new creatures to the map. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find the mighty Andrewsarchus on Ark: Survival Evolved’s new map Fjordur.
What the Andrewsarchus does
While it may resemble a cross between a warthog and a bear, the Andrewsarchus is valuable to any player’s team. It can run ridiculously fast, kick things much like an Equus, dealing Torpor which can knock players and creatures out, and if you get its saddle, basically perform drive-bys. The Andrewsarchus is certainly a versatile mount.
Where to find the Andrewsarchus in Ark: Survival Evolved Fjordur
The Andrewsarchus is located in Midgard, which is the main part of the map. It often travels in groups of up to three. They prefer greener pastures and generally open terrain.

The first location where you can find these creatures is around 46:40 – 91:96. If you’re looking to tame one of these, ensure you aren’t near their friends, or they’ll agro onto and mess up the taming process completely.

Andrewsarchus can be found again in a green open area around 40.05 – 82.54. They will draw the aggression of larger dinosaurs like the Rex and a Giga, so try to kill off any threats. Wild dinos will also agro onto you, so pay attention to your surroundings.

They can also be found on the cliff areas around 24.41 – 69.43. However, when taming an Andrewsarchus, it’s advisable to find a more open area as they’ll run wild as you play the mini-game to tame them.

The last general area that you’ll find in the Andrewsarchus is around 61.10 – 26.48. This area is closer to some water and waterfalls, so be careful you don’t end up taking a swim with some potentially lethal creatures.
