Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma is coming to Xbox One on August 30. Spike Chunsoft

Publisher Spike Chunsoft confirmed an August 30 release date for Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma on Xbox One consoles. Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma is the third and final game in the famed Zero Escape series which consists of three visual novels, including Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and Virtue’s Last Reward. All of the games are available on PlayStation consoles as well as PC via Steam. The first two games made their way to Xbox One and the Xbox Game Pass in March 2022.

Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma is a visual novel adventure mystery game that features the acts as a finale to the Zero Escape series as well as a timeline bridge for the first game, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors, and the second one, Virtue’s Last Reward. Set in an underground nuclear bomb shelter, a new group of nine unwilling participants has been locked up and forced to participate in the Decision Game led by a masked person known as Zero. The participants are divided into three sections: C-Team, Q-Team, and D-Team.

To escape the deadly test, they need six passwords; one password is given to them each time a character dies. All of the characters wear special bracelets that inject them with a drug that induces memory loss every 90 minutes. The game’s plot heavily involves the many-worlds theory of alternate and parallel universes, and to simulate the theory, Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma uses alternate timelines where key decisions have or have not been chosen. As a bridge to the first and second game of the series, Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma features characters from both titles, with some of them being part of the Decision Game.

Along with this announcement, Microsoft also confirmed several other games coming later this week to Xbox consoles. These are:

  • Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed – August 30
  • Tinykin – August 30
  • Fairy Elements – August 31
  • Food Truck Tycoon – August 31
  • Murder on the Marine Express – August 31
  • JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle R – September 1
  • Onsen Master – September 1
  • LEGO Brawls – September 2
